I stopped in here for dinner. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. I had Harry's Original Gumbo and Cajun Seared Tuna. I really, really liked them. Did I mention the bread. Hot out of the oven and marvelous. Nina was my server and she had great timing. I will be back.
The she crab soup was really good. The boudin balls were very meaty and flavorful. The jambalaya was just ok, kind of had a ketchupy flavor and the chicken was well overcooked. All in all though I'd go back, definitely for the soup!
It was very busy Friday night, and our party of three still seated very quickly (20 minute wait.) That time passed quickly, as we grabbed a spot at the bar. The bartender was friendly, our drinks were refreshing and made properly, (as one of is us a bartender, and she is our dink critic, she approved all of them.) It was Happy Hour, so the drinks were discounted, were was a pleasant surprise when our tab came! Our appetizers and dinners were out to us in a timely fashion. My she crab soup was delicious, and my dinner salad that followed, left me very satisfied. My daughter brought her leftover pasta and enjoyed it later that night. I will definitely return when I'm back in town.
It has been some time since we have been to Harry's in Ocala. We started with our favorite, the Calamari. It was cooked perfectly but I swear the Remoulade sauce served with it is the star, I could dip everything in that! We both had the Chicken Cobb Salad and they were great. I had mine with grilled chicken and had blue cheese, which is one of my favorites but this dressing seemed a little sweeter than I liked however you could tell it was made from scratch. My husband had his salad with the fried chicken and honey mustard. He really enjoyed it. Kayla was our server and very sweet. She was also attentive to our needs. We did have to wait for over a half hour for our salads and feel maybe their must have been some kind of mix up in the kitchen to contribute to such a long wait. We always enjoy Harry's and look forward to going back.
Collard Greens and Fried Green Tomatoes, just order these. Sooo good. Stay away from the Caesar salad. Although the dressing is good, that's it. Someone please needs to step up their game there. The Shrimp and Scampi Orleans was so good. But our waiter was, eh! He seemed annoyed and rushed. But you can't win them all over. However, wouldn't that be more of a waiter's goal? There 4 to 6 menu is a great, great time to dine. They give you great options, few dollars less. The portions are smaller, but why not! You can order more this way.
