I’m moving to the area and stopped by with my husband and daughters to get some halal food while we look around for houses. Let me tell you all something….this is by far the BEST food I’ve ever eaten in my life. The flavor, the serving size was just out of this world! It is hard to find this kind of food and this place is going to be the reason we move. I don’t think I want to cook again lol. The staff was so attentive and nice and made us feel so welcome. It gave me such a good feeling about the city overall. I’m sure the entire menu is delicious but you guys need to try the oxtail with rice and peas, the stew chicken, jerk chicken , and don’t forget dessert! They have the tastiest lemon cake and coffee cake all made fresh in house. We dined in and it was very cozy, well kept, and clean. I’m counting down the days till we move and I will be back very soon for more!
We drove from Canada to Florida for 2 days and this is our first time visit Ocala, we feel so welcomed by the owner and his wife. Food is perfect! we tried OX TAIL and JERK CHICKEN, really love the taste. they are slow cooked for several hours and feel still juicy. couldn't finish it all so we took it for our following trip. Also thanks for the owner's gift, we really enjoyed it!! Very nice people and great food!
Wow…food was incredible. Portions are huge! My daughter and I had a medium jerk chicken and a large goat curry with a loaf of coco bread to share. We could have easily fed a family of four with this food alone. The owner brought us out some complimentary pieces of oxtail and let me tell you it was divine. I highly recommend you try this place if you like the flavors of Jamaican and Caribbean food. Any time I am in the area I will make it a point to eat here and you should too! Update 2/13/24: I have since been back twice to this establishment and can report that the food was just as good as my first visit. This place consistently makes incredibly delicious, satisfying food. And as a big eater I love the portions!
DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! The good: the cabbage mix, sweet plantains and peas and rice were pretty tasty. With that said, I am giving this restaurant a 1 star for food because they’re promoting “authentic Jamaican food”. This isn’t even remotely close to authentic Jamaica food. - The jerk chicken looks so good mouth watered and all but it was beyond bland - the rice and peas was flavorful but not Jamaican that’s for sure - the Mac and cheese is boxed Mac and cheese. Like are you kidding me!!!!!! Not only was I over charged for domestic food but I literally took a few bites and immediately regretted it!!!! What a waste of food and money. I’m more disgusted by the boxed Mac and cheese. Like they didn’t even try. It went from a box to the pot to the tray. I always support small businesses but feedback is good. 1 star and I will never be going back!
The owners are very nice and polite. I have had the oxtail rice/beans and Mac and cheese they also let me try the rasta pasta and absolutely amazing. They give you more than enough food my plates are always heavy and enough to share
